An atmospheric animation, done very well and with a slow flowing action. But it is full and takes us through the most relevant events of the life of Gao Shi and his lifelong friend, Li Bai, in ancient China. Where the only way to stand out in society was the rank of noble, which allowed you to make art. That is, more specifically, poetry that sums up the life experiences lived.
The animation is quite long, it has almost 3 hours; I could not see it continuously and I watched it episodically, as if I had seen a series.
I liked to see it this way, because as the minutes went by and I took a break, I liked it more and more.
As I said, the atmosphere is magical and, besides the atmosphere, it has a beautiful content about human nature, friendship, life, poetry, joy, the hardships of life, war, conflicts between people, their solution and the search for the way in life and one's own mission.
The main character is Ghao Shi, a young Chinese farmer and warrior who wanted to be part of the high circles of the kingdom and have a position at court.
Through it we have access to a whole human life, accompanied by the most notable and relevant experiences.
Ghao Shi is serious, responsible, skilled as a fighter and a hardworking guy.
Ghao meets Li Bai, his lifelong friend and second main character, the opposite of Ghao Shi: partying, cheerful, dizzy, acting quickly and then seeing where his actions take him.
Through the two and their stories we see how their lives evolve, as the two periodically meet, spend time together, then go looking for horses and solutions to become noble or make a name for themselves.
And we see that life consists of countless mistakes and failures with what you propose, but it is precisely those failures and mistakes that make you do your job, look for solutions and continue to trust life.
It's very nice how the story is told, although it's a bit slow; I liked the approach and the way the story flows.
There are many revealing scenes that show us how to make landmarks from the most important moments of our lives, along with the people who matter to us.
We see that the landmarks are beautiful moments that had a positive impact on Ghao, and the fact that he put into words his life experiences that he lived supports Ghao all his life, until old age. And he uses these landmarks in difficult times or when he is well.
Because Ghao tells the story and his memories of being old, telling a young man his life and his experiences, we see how wise he is and how much value he gives to the young man as he goes deeper and deeper into his memories.
This means living your life carefully, connected to reality and being able to pass on the wisdom of the experiences gathered to a young person who starts on the same path.
I really liked how the relationship between Gao Shi and the young man who came to ask him for account, and finally he gets to respect and admire him deeply.
All you have to do is enjoy this beautiful animation.
I leave you with some dialogues or notes, there are few but relevant 😁
