Orion and the dark is a delightful animation, with a fairytale-like atmosphere aiming to bring inner peace.
It impressed me with its tranquil atmosphere, creativity, well-crafted storyline, and the content it offers by personifying our fears and anxieties. But more than that, I particularly liked how it simply highlighted for everyone the necessity of every aspect of life. And how absurd it is to run from our fears and overvalue the blinding light.
It's full of highly relevant content and clearly exposes how everything in life makes sense and every "negative" or "positive" part plays its role in the world.
In short, it's about darkness and light, and their roles in the world.
Why did I mention darkness first? Because every abstract concept that seems indescribable is personified and comes to life.
The main character is Orion, a child with many fears and anxieties who ends up befriending the darkness and its allies.
And once he befriends the darkness, he embraces the peace, sleep, noises, insomnia, and pleasant dreams.
Orion becomes part of the team and learns to see the contribution of each and the necessity of every character in everyday life.
The main character of the story is Orion, but the most relevant character is darkness, and we see the weight and importance darkness has in the world.
On this occasion, we can also see the magic of the night, how we can observe the stars in the sky because of the darkness, the lights in the sky, and the Northern Lights, as well as all the beauty the night represents.
We see how darkness complements light and how because of darkness, light can have meaning and can be observed, appreciated, and "sought after."
Without darkness, light would make no sense, and vice versa.
Darkness represents the uncertainty of life, its depths, and the beauty found where almost no one looks. It is presented as very friendly, warm, and with many insecurities because people are very foolish and fear it unjustifiably. Seeing only its negative side.
And when darkness no longer exists, we see how people begin to be bothered by light, how they avoid it because it becomes tiresome and blinding.
It's the kind of animation I really enjoy, and I believe it's filled with highly relevant content, content that can bring us something extra, all these fears and anxieties being personified, we see what their role is and that life is full of meaning.
Everything we consider to exist as a given actually represents the work of an entity, a spirit, or someone who has to do their job.
This revelation brought me peace and made me more attentive to what's happening around me. And you realize how apathetic or lacking in receptivity and attention we live our lives because we humans often say that life is chaos and not worth living.
Life is incredibly beautiful, difficult, incredibly complex, and wise. And we say we're bored, we're apathetic with depression and dramas. And we experience all these feelings because we are so detached from reality and life.
In conclusion, I want to challenge you with an exercise, which I will also do. If we notice in the movie characters coming to life. Let's imagine and personify how the character named life would look like.
Enjoy watching! 😁
❤️ it!
