Jujutsu Kaisen carries a highly relevant message about our society and how we, as individuals, bring negative energy into the world (Curses). Like many other anime, Jujutsu Kaisen shows the value of knowing what matters to us and how all our decisions are driven by our goals and priorities.
It combines humor, seriousness, content, action, spectacular hand-to-hand combat, techniques, deep introspection, superficiality, simple and fulfilling life, truths about life and society, friendships, work, involvement, devotion, etc.
This anime delves deeply into the motivations of each character and shows how they live their lives, what drives them to become sorcerers, what their goals are, what they fight for, and what their intimate stories are.
It features strong, complex, and well-defined characters.
Here are a few characters that are very cool and have impacted me:
1. Itadori, the main character. I'll let you savor and analyze him yourselves. From my perspective, Itadori is like a plant that grows as it is watered and has more resources.
2. Gojo Satoru, the mentor of the Jujutsu students and the strongest of them all. He seems like a superficial guy who takes things lightly, but we see how connected he is to everything important and how each decision or action he takes carries weight and significance.
3. Megumi, a character I deeply resonate with and who has helped me observe myself better because I function similarly.
Jujutsu Kaisen is about absorbing the darkness from others (Curses) and how you build an inner fort to grow and become strong enough to protect those important to you.
How do you identify what's important to you? And how does it become a guiding principle?
The most relevant example is the scene with Itadori's grandfather in the early episodes, which is extremely cool and I find it very useful.
"Yuji! You're strong, so help people. You can only help those close to you. Save only those you can save. It's okay to feel lost. And don't care if you're thanked. Whatever happens, help as much as you can, even if it's just one. That way, you'll be surrounded by many. Don't become like me."
From this discussion, Yuji deduced what's important to him, and based on these aspects, he made all his decisions. Because his purpose is to help others because he's strong, and that's how he understood the value of friendship.
This is a moment and an experience that impacted him and serves as a guiding principle in his life.
Think about how much it means to receive from someone who has lived a life of loneliness, his greatest regret.
To be able to tell you what betrayals he made and to give you a direction to follow, not to repeat the same mistakes.
Beyond this, Jujutsu has a very cool atmosphere, it urges you to watch it and makes you curious to see what it's about. It combines many very relevant aspects of life, and as I watched the first season again, it reminded me of two anime that I really love, Naruto and Demon Slayer.
Now I invite you to write in the comments if you've seen it, what you like about it, what feelings you've had, or which character you resonate with and why?
If you have any questions or something you want to understand, write and I'll develop the topic 😁
